We found that in try one the ladder is unstable because of the thin connection material, so in try 2 we attept to increase the repitition of the system and create a more stable system.

This trial is an attempt to construct a way for the top panel to be rotated enough to create the chain effect of the ladder. The flexinol wire is wrapped around the inset discs so that when activated it tightens, rotating the discs.

To continue with our research we tested out a variety of materials and configurations to try and see which set would work best in our system. We have found that the material weight and the tightness of the connecting ribbons have the most impact on the movement. A heavier material works better overall.

We were able to get the script to run for the first part of the process, but when adding the censor into the program, the script would run and become stuck on a 'waiting...' message.
