4a. Fanning Aperture Animation: This output prototype device was conceived on the notion that a small (yet strong) force was needed to open and close a shading component (note two notches at right bottom). This triangle shaped cell with a fan-like aperture didn't perform as expected due to several factors of material (it wasn't smooth enough to move freely and design (the fans didn't follow each other when opening). The animation details the intended output. We are rethinking this approach for future prototype designs.

to demonstrate potentials for off the shelf components.













4c. Disposable Camera Aperture: currently investigation...this video documents where we are at with activating the camera aperture.
